The Nutcracker AU (also known as The Nutcracker and the Mouse King AU and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms AU) is a AU (Alternate Universe) within the Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons fandom. In the AU, Rapunzel, Merida, Hiccup and Jack Frost are featured in the fantasy world of The Nutcracker. This is a sub-scenario to Fairy Tale AU.
About the AU[]
In this AU, the Big Four and other such characters are portrayed as characters from The Nutcracker ballet, as well as from one of the many other known adaptations of E.T.A. Hoffmann's original novel, that inspired Tchaikovsky's ballet adaptation of it, like The Nutcracker and the Four Realms film.

Hiccup has been portrayed as the Nutcracker Prince for the Hiccelsa pairing. There also been times when Hiccup is cast as a male version of Clara.
Jack Frost[]
Jack is commonly cast as the Nutcracker Prince. There have also been fans who have Jack as the male dance partner of a Winter Prince/Snowflake when they have Jack doing a scene from the Nutcracker ballet with Tooth as the Sugarplum Fairy.

Sometimes for the Rapssandra, Eugunzel and Jackunzel pairings, Rapunzel has been cast as Clara.

Following a piece of red string/thread to find her gifts in the first Frozen short, Frozen Fever and for being a younger sister, has fans casting Anna as Clara Stahlbaum from Disney's darker, live-action film version of the story, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.
Mother Gothel[]
Because of the similarities of their names, fans have Mother Gothel as Mother Ginger from Disney's darker, live-action film version of the story, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. While Gothel first presenting herself as a friend and someone that a young girl could trust, before Rapunzel had uncovered both her lies and true dark nature, can also have Gothel as Disney's antagonist version of the Sugar Plum Fairy, who is also from the 2018 live-action film that is of The Nutcracker fairy tale and ballet.
Felicie[]
Because the 2016 film, Ballerina (also known Leap! in the US) has The Nutcracker ballet as part of its story, along with the part of Clara being reward to the young dancer that does well and is the "last girl standing" in Louis Merante's dance class, and Felicie being the one that rightfully earns the part through her passion and newly gained dancing skills, fans can cast Felicie as Clara. Fans have also cast her as a female Nutcracker, for fun.
Queen Elsa[]
Elsa has been cast as Clara and the villain version of the Sugar Plum Fairy from Disney's The Nutcracker and the Four Realms film (for when Anna is Clara); due to Elsa's villain role and appearance from one of the eariler layouts of Frozen being commonly used in dark AUs and crossovers. While Elsa being an older sister could have her as Louise Stahlbaum.

For the Helsa pairing, Hans is cast as the Nutcracker.

Since Tooth is a fairy fans like to cast her as the Sugar Plum Fairy, for fun.

Being a king who took someone else's kingdom for himself can easily portray him as the Mouse King.

Due to the times Anna has been cast as Clara, Kristanna fans could have Kristoff as the Nutcracker. Since Kristoff was one of the people who helped Anna find her way to Elsa, a bit similar to how the Nutcracker serves as Clara's guide when he brought her over to his world.

Because Jack is commonly cast as the Nutcracker and the way North is a man who sees the wonder in the world, he can quite easily be cast as Drosselmeyer. As there have been times when North has served as a father-like figure to Jack.
