Shrek the Third is the third chapter of DreamWorks' Shrek franchise.
Plot[]
With King Harold ill Shrek tries to fill in for his father-in-law, despite the fact that is is delaying his plans to return back to his swamp, and Shrek failing to preform his royal duties despite his best efforts didn't help. As Harold comes close to death Shrek feared that he'll end up becoming the next King and he'll return be able to return to his simply swamp life ever again, until the dying King mentions his nephew Arthur Pendragon and how he is the heir to the throne. This gives Shrek hope as he leaves to fetch him, but as he leaves Fiona tells her husband that he is going to be a father. Something that Shrek doesn't feel ready for. While a revenge seeking Charming plans to make himself King by enlisting the help of the fairy tale villains to serve as his army so he can kill Shrek and the young heir that the Ogre was sent to collect.
