She-Ra AU (also known as She-Ra and the Princesses of Power AU, She-Ra: Princess of Power AU or SPOP AU) is an AU (Alternate Universe) within the Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons fandom. In the AU, Rapunzel, Merida, Hiccup and Jack Frost are portrayed as characters from the popular DreamWorks/Netflix cartoon, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.

About the AU[]

Spawning from fanart, this AU places the Big Four, and other such characters in the fandom, as characters from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. Although the AU is mainly focused on the Netflix version the most, other versions of the She-Ra franchise can still be included.

The Big Four[]

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III[]

Hiccup can be cast as Bow, due to his intelligence and gentle nature, and both the HTTYD TV and comic book series reveals that Hiccup does have some archery skills. He could also be cast as a male version of Princess Entrapta, due to their love of inventing. While being a born leader who wields a unique sword can cast him as a male version of Adora. Just him first starting off as an outcast could have him a male version of Catra.

Jack Frost[]

Because he wields the power to control ice and snow, Jack can be placed as a male version of Princess Frosta of Snows or possibly even as a Horde Soldier. As well as a character that is similar to Double Trouble until he joins the Rebellion later on, symbolizing his neutrality before joining the Guardians. He can also be cast as Sea Hawk for being viewed as a charmer, while wanting to have attention from others could have him as Catra.

Merida DunBroch[]

Merida's fiery nature, brashness, and mother issues can cast her as Princess/Queen Glimmer, or possibly as a Fire Elemental Princess. Since Merida has been given fire abilities in elemental related AUs and crossovers. While Merida's archery skills could have her as a female version of Bow. She could also be cast as Adora from being skilled with a sword and is close with a horse.

Rapunzel Corona[]

Due to her magical blonde hair and royal background, Rapunzel can easily be cast as She-Ra. As Adora, she would sport her short brown hair. She can also be cast as Perfuma, another blonde barefoot princess who is in touch with nature, or could be cast as a Princess/Queen Glimmer-like character due to their photo kinetic powers. She also has the potential to be cast as Scorpia, since they are both sweet, kind, and loving individuals that can still hold their own in a fight and come from royal blood even though they were raised by the antagonists of their series.

Extra Characters[]

Queen Elsa[]

Queen Elsa is usually given the role of Princess Frosta, due to their similar powers and cool natures when regarding the throne. However, some fans like to cast the former queen as She-Ra, due to her affiliation with a society and culture with a few connections to magic that was almost long forgotten by the world (similar to the First Ones) and had powers with a rather mysterious origin. She can also be cast as Catra when Anna is She-Ra, from how people saw Catra and Adora having a sister-like bond before Adora became She-Ra.

Moana Waialiki[]

Moana can easily be cast as Mermista, due to their connection to the water and being the heirs to their father’s kingdom/tribe.

Flynn Rider[]

Flynn can be cast as Sea Hawk, due to their similar egocentric personalities. There have also been a few fans who have Flynn as a male version of Glimmer, since he hails from royal blood, never met his father, and served as a general in the royal army (much later in the season, though).

Cassandra[]

In stories where Rapunzel is Adora/She-Ra, Cassandra can easily be cast as Catra, due to both characters having internal resentment to the female protagonist, shared a past friendship with the protagonist that turned into animosity once they ‘betrayed’ one another, had issues concerning their mother figure favouring one over the other and the jealousy of feeling second best to the seemingly favored.

Mother Gothel[]

In stories where Rapunzel is Adora/She-Ra and Cassandra is Catra, Gothel can easily be cast as Shadow Weaver, because of her manipulations and favour of Rapunzel over her own biological daughter.

Maximus[]

Maximus can be cast as Swift Wind, especially in stories where Rapunzel is Adora/She-Ra.

Pitch Black[]

Pitch Black can be cast as Hordak, and by extension Horde Prime. There have also been occasions when Pitch has been cast as a male version of Catra.

Varian[]

Varian’s slight eccentricity, his immense love for inventing and science, and his past of joining the dark side once he believed his friends betrayed him, can easily cast him as a male version of Princess Entrapta, or rather a Bow-like character since they are both rather friendly and love tech.

Princess Anna[]

Anna’s former habit of rushing into danger, enthusiasm, stubbornness, and ascent into queendom can easily cast her as Glimmer. She can also be cast as Adora as both of them have wielded a sword, as one of the earlier Frozen II teaser trailers had Anna taking a sword from Kristoff to defend her and her friends, as well as Anna picking up an ice made sword in the film itself.

Vanellope von Schweetz[]

Being a sassy royal that is reckless and having a thirst for zeal can cast her as Princess Frosta of Snows, although her status as a glitch and outcast amongst her peers (along with a connection to technology) could also cast her as Princess Entrapta.

Honeymaren[]

Sometimes when Elsa is cast as Adora, fans of the Elsamaren pairing portray Honeymaren as Catra.

Lance Strongbow[]

When fans cast Rapunzel as Adora/She-Ra and Eugene as a male Glimmer, it gets a few fans to portray Lance as Bow.

Astrid Hofferson[]

Astrid being a female warrior with blond hair and helps her friends to fight people who want to take over the world, can easily have her as Adora/She-Ra.

Heather[]

Heather being a former villain can easily cast her as Catra. Heather's time with villains and the way she was separated from her birth family at a young age could also have her as Adora.

Raya[]

Raya forming a friendship with someone who started out as her friend before they became enemies to friends again can cast her as Adora.

Namaari[]

Namaari being a former villain can easily cast her as Catra. Similar to how Catra and Adora were childhood friends, there was a brief moment when a young Namaari came close to befriending Raya, before she betrayed her; leading the two princesses to grow up as enemies who eventually become friends during the final battle.

Dagur the Deranged[]

Dagur being a former villain could cast him as a male version of Catra. Like with Hiccup, Dagur had a childhood connection with him and had called him his brother, before he felt betrayed by the fact that Hiccup lied to him in order to protect the dragons he prefer over him, and after many long battles against one another Dagur eventually lets go of his hatred for Hiccup and becomes his friends.

Drago Bludvist[]

Drago's goal to conquer and control the world can easily cast him as Hordak.

Zhan Tiri[]

With Rapunzel and Cassandra commonly seen as Adora and Catra, and the way she kept the two from mending their friendship, Zhan Tiri can easily serve as a female version of Hordak.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng[]

Marinette being a heroin that can transform into her alter ego through a magical object, can cast her as Adora/She-Ra.

Isabela Madrigal[]

Isabela connected with flowers can easily cast her as Perfuma.

Walter Beckett[]

Walter connected with Inventions can cast him as a male version of Princess Entrapta.

Adrien Agreste[]

Adrien's cat-themed alter-ego and his time as Cat Blanc (a villain version of Cat Noir) in one of the altered timelines, can him cast as a male version of Catra.
