Robot AU (also known as Cyborg AU) is an AU introduced through fanart, depicting the Big Four (or at least one of the characters) as robots.
About this AU[]
This AU was formed through fanart of the Big Four as robots or cyborgs. Because robots and cyborgs are already involved in the fandom, such a concept is not completely random.
Since robots, cyborgs and other robotic related elements are commonly used in science fiction related franchises, fans like to consider this AU an alternative to Sci-Fi AU. While cyborgs being part machine and part organic could also have it part of Hybrid AU.

Hiccup is mostly seen as someone who has either built or befriended robots that many people want to get their hands on or see as a threat. Similar to the way Hiccup has befriended one of his people's mortal enemies and does want he can to protect his friend's kind from those who would them harm.
Should Hiccup be cast as a character from robot related franchises, Hiccup being a skilled inventor can cast him as Rodney Copperbottom from the Blue Sky's film, Robots.

The way that Jack was turned into a spirit as a second chance of life could have him as someone who was turned into a Cyborg, after he sustained an injury that placed him in a close to death-like state and was turned into a cyborg in order to save his life. There have also been times when Jack has been featured as an Android that was built to protect people.

Should Merida be cast as a character from robot related franchises, Merida being a tomboy and free-spirited could have her as Piper Pinwheeler from the Blue Sky's film, Robots.
