Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs is a 2019 English-language computer-animated fantasy film that was produced by Locus Corporation in South Korean. The film is based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, Snow White, as well as it being derived from the Danish fairy tale, The Red Shoes. While the film's story uses fairy tales and two notable figures from the Arthurian folklore as a base, the story it self is about how people react or treat others based on their appearances, as well as body shaming, and the importance of expecting people for who are are; no matter what they look like on the outside.

Plot[]

The film takes place in a fairy tale world called Fairy Tale Isle and whenever dangers appears the Fearless Seven, a group of seven heroic princes are called upon to slay dragons and save princesses. The group is leader by Prince Merlin, while the other six princes are Arthur, Jack, Hans and the royal inventing triplets, Pino, Noki and Kio. One day they mistake a green skinned fairy princesses for a witch and attacked her because of it. Even though they saved her from a dragon before they began to attack her, the princess punishes the seven by turning them into seven "ugly" dwarfs whenever someone looks at them. Only a kiss from a beautiful woman can break the curse, but their new green chubby faces has made this a challenge, since the seven and many others on the isle believe that appearances are everything.

While the once handsome heroes struggle with breaking the curse, the Kingdom of the White family has been taken over by King White's second wife, Regina. Who is a witch that uses plant-like magic and even though he was able to send his daughter, Snow White away for her own safety, the King wasn't able to escape Regina as she makes him "disappear". The princess's worry for her father has Snow White returning to the castle where she finds her father's journal that contains a message to her; find the Fearless Seven and ask them for their help. After Snow White reads the message she spies an odd apple tree that she as never seen in the castle before and as she reaches out to grab one of its apples, she ends up being the new wearer of the red shoes that Regina uses to stay young and beautiful. This enrages the Evil Queen as the tree dies shortly after the girl she didn't recognised as her step-daughter escapes with the magical red shoes on her feet. Not even her obnoxious Magic Mirror knows who she is and Regina needs to get those shoes back before she runs out of time. This got the mirror to find willing pawn who'll find the mysterious girl for them.

As the cursed Fearless Seven make their way back to base, while complaining about their last failed attempts to brake the curse and are running out of beautiful maidens they can turn to, they see someone flying on a broomstick who is heading to their outpost base. The seven mistake the person they saw from afar for a witch and plan to make her to brake the curse for them, but the witch turns out to be the most beautiful woman they have ever seen. After she wakes up from being knocked out by Hans, she realises that her appearance has magically changed and ends up telling the dwarfs that her name is "Red Shoes", as she wasn't sure if they'll help her find her father if they know the truth about her. Because Red Shoes tells them that she doesn't fancy the Fearless Seven, they tell her that they are friends of theirs and that they'll help her instead. In hopes that she'll kiss one of them in return. While many see the dwarfs as ugly little creatures, Red Shoes thinks that they are adorable.
