Power Rangers AU is an AU in the fandom where the Big Four and other such characters are portrayed as Power Rangers. This is considered a sub-scenario to Superhero AU.

About the AU

In this AU, the members of the Big Four, and other such characters are portrayed as Power Rangers. Portrayed as known Rangers or are placed in their very own Ranger teams, as they fight evil, save the world or their home city and calling upon their Zords to the battle field, so they could have a fighting change with "larger" opponents. Most commonly, this AU takes place in modern times, along with it sometimes being placed in the future or on another planet. Elements from Super Sentai, which Power Rangers was adapted from, can also be used.

Featured Characters

The Big Four

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III

Being a natural-born leader in-canon, Hiccup is usually portrayed as a Red Ranger. However, fans usually have his ranger powers draw from the Night Fury and the dragon's black scales makes him a Black Ranger, unless fans were to change the dragon's "black" colored scales to a shade of red or place the two colors beside one another. Hiccup's Ranger title is mostly the Night Fury Ranger, staying black or changing the color to red depends on his role in the Ranger team fans place him in. The Night Fury Strike class mark or any of the other How to Train Your Dragon franchise markings, that have been placed on Hiccup or has a connection to them (like the Viking Helmet mark that is on two of Toothless' main red tail fins), is sometimes placed on his ranger armour, as part of its design.

Toothless is also portrayed as his Zord, (red or stays black) and his sword or shield as his main weapon. The Dragon Eye can even be used as a Ranger artifact, as its lenses resembles and looks a bit like the Power Coins, while holding and showing facts about dragons would make them a bit more like the small Zord orbs from Wild Force; as Hiccup and his friends use them to call other Dragon Zords to the field and to harness their power with his team's Mega-Zord. As Zords, Toothless and the other dragons would be sentient, like Guardian Beasts from Zyuranger (which became the original Dinozords).

If Hiccup were to be put into one of the many storylines of the Power Rangers franchise, him being separated from his mother as a baby before reuniting with her years later and the way that Hiccup has been shown to be a born leader could have him as Nick Russell from Power Rangers Mystic Force. While Hiccup being different from others could have a male version of him as Elizabeth Delagado from Power Rangers S.P.D, just as his intelligence could make him Rose Ortiz from Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive.

Jack Frost

Jack's choice in blue makes him a Blue Ranger, while his ice powers and white hair makes him a White Ranger; and being a Guardian of Childhood can have his ranger title be Guardian Ranger, of one of the two colors. With his staff as his main weapon and his ranger powers can come from the Ice, Wind or from his center; Fun. His ranger armor is sometimes "decorated" with the snowflakes that Jack creates in the Rise of the Guardians film; as they are seen as his personal mark.

Merida DunBroch

Merida's time riding in the woods can make her a Green Ranger, a Blue Ranger for her encounters with Will -O'-the-Wisps or from drinking from the Fire Falls, or as a Yellow Ranger, from the way that the sun shone on the waterfall or as a Black Ranger, from the dark color coats of both Bear Elinor and Angus. Her bow or a sword can be her main weapon and her ranger powers can come from the forest or land surrounding DunBroch, the Wisps, or a Black Horse or Bear; and the two animals can be used as her Zords. DunBroch's clan or kingdom crest, or the eagle-like carving that Merida carved on her bow, can be placed on her ranger armor, as part of its deign.

If Merida were to be put into one of the many storylines of the Power Rangers franchise, her being viewed as a tomboy and is an older sister could have her as Vida Rocca from Power Rangers Mystic Force. Merida's tomboy side could also have her as Gia Moran from Power Rangers: Megaforce or Hayley Foster from Power Rangers: Ninja Steel. Just as her bold and athletic personality could have her as Ronny from Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive.

Rapunzel Corona

Rapunzel's choice in pink makes her a Pink Ranger, while her blond hair and her connection to the sun and the Golden Flower makes her a Yellow Ranger. She can also be a Green Ranger when her power ranger powers come from a chameleon and a White Ranger from a white horse. Pascal and Maximus can be portrayed as two of her Zords. Corona's sun crest is sometimes placed on her ranger armor, as part of its design.

Extra Characters

Big Hero 6

The team are commonly portrayed as their own Power Ranger team and their "ranger colors" are the same as the colors on their BH6 suits. Despite Hiro's purple armor, he is seen as a Red Ranger for being the leader; however his ranger colour can be purple (or another color like blue for his hoodie) when the role of leader is given to someone else. He can also be the one that builds and upgrades the team's ranger gear. GoGo would be a Yellow Ranger, while the dark clothing that she wears could also have her a Black Ranger, since the color and style of a Ranger's casual clothes are mainly or partly of their given ranger color. Wasabi is seen as a Green Ranger, Fred a Blue Ranger (with his Fredzilla suit as his Zord) and Honey Lemon is commonly placed as a Pink Ranger. Their Ranger theme can be science and robotics, because of the fields that they work in at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology and how they used them to make and work with their suits and gear. The emblem icons that the team are given in Big Hero 6: The Series, could be placed on their ranger armor, as part of their deign.

Baymax can be their Megazord, a Red Ranger, their Robot sidekick/helper like Alpha Five or can be can one of the Ranger-like warriors that assists and lends them a hand in battle. The role of Red Ranger could be given to Tadashi, since fans sometimes place him in Baymax's 2.0 armor, or could have him with any other ranger color that suits him best. As there have also been fans that have Tadashi as a Black Ranger.

Dragon Riders

The members of the Berk Dragon Training Academy can be portrayed as Dragon Rangers, as they harness the power from the dragons they ride. Hiccup as a Red or Black Night Fury Ranger (or could have both colors), Astrid can be a blue Deadly Nadder Ranger, Fislegs a Gronckle, Snotlout as a (orange or Yellow) Monstrous Nightmare Ranger (despite Hookfang's red scales [as red is the color of the ranger leader]) and the twins as Green Hideous Zippleback Rangers.

Toothless, Stormfly, Meatlug, Hookfang and Barf and Belch can be portrayed as their Dragon Zords, along with the other dragons that they had befriended, trained, saved and have faced. Like the Fireworm Queen, Scauldy, Skullcrusher and more. Their dragon ranger powers can be given to them by Valka or a humanoid version of the white Bewilderbeast, with the Dragon's Hide or the Dragon's Edge severing as their HQ base.

Guardians of Childhood

The Guardians of Childhood can be portrayed as Guardian Rangers and what they stand for as guardians can also be what they stand for as Power Rangers. North the Red Wonder Ranger, Bunny the "Gray" or Silver Hope Ranger, Tooth the Green Memory Ranger, Sandy the Yellow Dream Ranger and Jack as the Blue Fun Ranger. While MiM is a Zordun-like character to the Guardians as he guides, assists and mentors them.

The creatures and animals from the Guardians of Childhood book series, along with one of North's yetis and Toothiana's fairies can be cast as their Zords, while Pitch's Nightmares are the "hench" monsters they fight. The Guardian Stone can even serve as the Zeo Crystal or any of the other kind of crystal from the PR franchise, the small nesting doll that resembles their centers or the Relics - from the Guardians of Childhood books - can even be used as the items that allows them to morph into rangers.

Valka

When Hiccup and his friends are portrayed as Dragon Rangers (when their ranger powers are drawn from their dragons), Valka is placed as the one that granted them with their dragon ranger powers. As well as teaching them how to use them, the best way to train Dragon Zords and what they need to know about their nemesis. She can also be cast as a Stormcutter Ranger, with Cloudjumper as her Zord and having her ranger powers drawn from him; and her double-hooked staff as her main weapon.

Heather

Heather's past as an ally and "antagonist" casts her as a power ranger that went down the wrong path and having her powers drawn from evil and being controlled or manipulated by it or by the one (or ones) that gave it to her, before breaking free from that control and going down the right path; by joining and fighting alongside the rangers. Heather can be a silver Razorwhip Ranger, with Windshear as her Zord and having her ranger powers drawn from her; and her double-sided battle axe as her main weapon.

Her brother, Dagur can have the same backstory and could have been chosen to help his sister destroy the rangers, before they changed sides. His Dragon Ranger powres would be drawn from the dragon he rides (the "frozen" Skrill, Shattermaster or Sleuther), while his weapon is an axe, crossbow or a set of throwing knifes.

Queen Elsa

Elsa's blue dress makes her a Blue Ranger, while her ice powers can have her as a White Ranger or be given the White Mystic Ranger armor and powers from Mystic Force. Being a female can also give her the Yellow or Pink ranger colors. For when she is placed as a white or blue ranger, her ranger armor is sometimes "decorated" with the snowflake that is commonly seen as her personal mark, as well as the fact that the four diamonds of the Frozen II snowflake help to make up the mark of the fifth elemental spirit; that turns out to be Elsa. While dark crossovers commonly having fans who use Elsa's original antagonist role and deign, from one of the earlier layouts of Frozen, could have Elsa as a power ranger that first went down the wrong path and having her powers drawn from evil and being controlled or manipulated by it or by the one (or ones) that gave it to her, before she was able to break free from either of their controlling holds on her and begins to go down the right path; by joining and fighting alongside the rangers.

Elsa's penguin doll, Sir Jorgenbjorgen, could have her possessing a Penguin Zord. As well as a Wolf Zord, to reference the wolf pack that chanced Anna, Kristoff and Sven; since some fans have the pack or "snow made" versions of them serving under Elsa. While Zords of a Horse and Salamander can serve as a reference to the encounter and bond she formed with the Nokk and Bruni.

If Elsa were to be put into the storyline of the Power Rangers franchise, Elsa's ice powers and now residing on a magical forest gives her the role of Udonna from Power Rangers Mystic Force. Just as her being an older sister who will do what she can to help others could have her as either Kimberly Ann Hart from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Serena, Mia Watanabe, and Lauren Shiba from Power Rangers: Samurai or Niella from Power Rangers: Mystic Force. While being different from others can also cast as Elizabeth Delagado from Power Rangers S.P.D.

Princess Anna

Anna is commonly seen as a Pink Ranger, while the green and flower patterns that is on most of her dress could have her as a Green Ranger. Fans also have her as a Blue or Yellow Ranger. Her ranger armor could be "decorated" with Arendelle's crest or the flower prints on her dresses.

If Anna were to be put into one of the many storylines of the Power Rangers franchise, her being a younger sister and does what she can to help others could have her as either Madison Rocca from Power Rangers Mystic Force, Emily from Power Rangers Samurai, Karone from Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, Zoey Reeves from Power Rangers Beast Morphers or Chloe Randall from Power Rangers Dino Charge. She can also be cast as Emma Goodall from Power Rangers: Megaforce for her optimistic and losing her mother.

The Emotions

The Emotions' colors, Red, Yellow, Blue, Green and Purple can cast them as a Power Ranger team of those colors, with Bing Bong as their sixth member and "pink" ranger. Their powers can be drawn from the emotions that they each stand for.

Moana Waialiki

Moana's friendship with the ocean can make her a Blue Ranger, while the red on her clothing and becoming her tribe's new chief can also make her a Red Ranger. She could even be a Green Ranger, for the color of the Heart of Te Fiti and the friendship she formed with the Goddess. Te Fiti could even be the one that made Moana a Power Ranger and granted the island girl with her ranger powers. Being a female can also make Moana a Yellow or Pink Ranger.

Pua, Heihei and Tala's manta ray form can serve as three of her Zords. While the heart of the Island Goddess could serve as her Power Coin or any of the other kind of Ranger artifacts that gives Moana her ranger powers and allows her to morph. Larger version of the Kakamora could also serve as the henchmonster that she fights with her teammates.

Cassandra

Cassandra's Ranger color would most likely be gray, due to the grayish-brown shirt she wears and the armour she dawns on in the second half of season two, blue from her handmaiden dress or Gold, due to the Royal Guards of Corona's armor (mixed with a bit of red). Her being a female can even make her a Yellow or Pink Ranger, as there is a bit of dark-reddish pink mixed with her combat/adventure clothing. Cassandra can even be a Red Ranger, due to her pet owl's reddish-like colored feathers and Owl can also be portrayed as her Zord (along with her horse, Fidello); while one of the weapons in her collection - mainly a sword or a bow - is used as her main weapon. Cass's villain actions at the end of season two and during season three, could even have Cassandra as a black-blue Power Ranger that first went down the wrong path and having her powers drawn from evil and being controlled or manipulated by it or by the one (or ones) that gave it to her (much like how Zhan Tiri, as the Enchanted Ghost Girl, had gotten Cassandra to betray Rapunzel by getting her to take the Moonstone for herself), before she was able to break free from either of their control and begin to go down the right path; by joining and fighting alongside the Rangers.

Cassandra would most likely be a Extra Ranger, as some of the Rangers colors that she is given isn't part of the a core Ranger team, but still assists the Rangers at various points. She'll mostly be helping out the Ranger Team that Rapunzel is placed in. Should she be placed in known Ranger Teams it would most likely be from the S.P.D. series, as the Royal Guards deal with the crimes in Corona much like the Space Patrol Delta; and with Cassandra being an orphan like two of the S.P.D. Rangers.

Mavis Dracula

Because of Mavis's black and dark clothing and being a vampire, she is seen as a Black Ranger. Her ability to become a bat can even have her wearing a female version of the Jungle Fury Bat Ranger armor from Jungle Fury, which could even give her the bat Zord; along with having her own version of it that is based in her bat self, along with a set of Zords that are based on her other animal transformations (like the mouse she turned into in Hotel Transylvania 2). Mavis being a female can also give her the Ranger colors of yellow and pink, along with red and purple; from the red that is on her tights and shoes and due to Mavis being surrounded in a purple light on her wedding day.

Nod

Due to the green armor that Nod wears as a Leafman, he is commonly seen as a Greed Ranger; with one of the trained Hummingbirds or his racing bird or a deer as two of his Zords, and his sword as his main weapon. While M.K.'s pink hoodie makes her a Pink Ranger, the white on Ronin's general uninform a White Ranger, and Queen Tara can serve as their mentor. As she helps him and the other three master their powers and prepares them for their battles with Mandrake and his Boggans.

Violet Parr

The color of her force-fields and her name, can have Violet as a Purple Ranger. While the red color of her family's matching supersuits could have her as a Red Ranger. Violet being a female could also make her a Yellow or Pink Ranger.

Wilbur Robinson

Wilbur's blue clothing could have him as a Blue Ranger, as the Rangers wear a piece of civilian clothing that is of their ranger color. While the lighting bolt logo on both his top and the cap that he had Lewis wear, which is one of the reasons why fans see it as his personal mark, could even have him as a Yellow Ranger. The logo's lighting bolt shape could easily have thunder, lighting or electricity has his ranger power, as it is the common elemental power that fans sometimes give Wilbur in both Superhero AU and Elements AU.

Fans casting Wilbur as a power ranger might be connected to the time traveling he had done in both the 2007 film and the prequel video game of Meet the Robinsons, and the few known rangers that have travelled through time. Like the Time Force Rangers, Cameron "Cam" Watanabe and the SPD Rangers.

Drago Bludvist

Drago's ambition of conquering the world with his enslaved dragon army, and the men that have sided with him, can have him as a main focus villain, that is the main threat and the leader of the dark forces, that the Rangers face. The Warlords could serve as his loyal generals, since they continued his goal of conquering the world, through the use of their own dragon army, after his defeat on Berk.

Penny Forrester

Penny could become either be a Yellow or Pink Ranger, however given her red shirt, are is a possibility that she could also be placed as a Red Ranger. Since the main color of a ranger's civilian clothing is based on their ranger color.

Mother Gothel

Since Gothel is seen as a witch by fans, this can have her as a main focus villain or the minion of one. Due to the theory of Gothel being one the three former students who betrayed Lord Demanitus to serve Zhan Tiri. She may have a role in Cassandra's path as an evil Ranger.

Momakase

Momakase in her mutant form can be cast as a monster-of-the-day. Since some known monsters were originally people before they were turned into one by either the main villain or one of their henchmen/minion.

Pitch Black

Pitch's goal to plunge the world in eternal darkness can have him as a main focus villain. He can be portrayed as an alien like in the books or a supernatural being as in the film due to most Ranger villains being either aliens or supernatural beings. Pitch can be seen wielding his staff from the books, akin to most Ranger villains. His Nightmares, having the ability to take any form in the Rise of the Guardians video game, or the Fearlings from the books can serve as his foot soldiers he sends to wear down the Rangers before sending his monster-of-the-day.

Kentucky Kaiju

Kentucky Kaiju can be cast as a monster-of-the-day. Fred's giant mech of movie the monster could even have Kentucky Kaiju as a Megazord.

Marshmallow

Marshmallow can be cast as a monster-of-the-day.

Zhan Tiri

Zhan Tiri may become the final villain the Big Four have to defeat, leading them to use their Megazord should she grow big with power. She could also be featured as main focused villain, since Zhan Tiri does have a few similar traits that match a few past Ranger villains. Like Rita Repulsa, Diabolico, Omni The Magnificence and Octomus the Master.

Mr. Sparkles

Mr. Sparkles in his mutant form can be cast as a monster-of-the-day. Since some known monsters were originally people before they were turned into one by either the main villain or one of their henchmen/minions.

Talia

Talia can be a Pink Ranger, since many Pink Rangers are female, the same with Yellow Rangers and Talia did wear a yellowish dress at Justin's knighting.

Justin

Justin's green colored attire can have him as a Green Ranger, while the color of his law student clothes and the white colored armour that was once his grandfather's could have him as a Black or White Ranger.

Lewis Robinson

Since Lewis has blue clothing, this could signify him being a Blue Ranger, due to the main color of a ranger's civilian clothing is always based on their ranger color.

Jim Lake Jr.

Because Jim's amulet works a little similar to a morpher, as it gives him armor and a weapon to fight his enemies with, he can easily be placed as a Power Ranger. The color of his armour could have him as a Sliver or Blue Ranger, while being the leader of Team Trollhunters, as well as the Guardians of Arcadia, and the red glow from his eclipse armor and sword could have him serving as a Red Ranger.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng

Ladybug's red color scheme being combined with her being the leader of Paris's Miraculous holder hero team, Marinette is commonly depicted as a Red Ranger of a ladybug-theme, as red is the color of the lead ranger and many past Power Rangers and teams were of animal/insect related themes. While Marinette's female gender sometimes has her as a Yellow or Pink Ranger.

Adrien Agreste

Due to Cat/Chat Noir's black color scheme, Adrien is commonly depicted as a Black Ranger of a black cat-theme, as there have been past Power Rangers and teams that were of animal related themes. There have also been rare occasions when he has been featured as a Red or Blue Ranger.

Alya Césaire

Alya's time as a user of the Fox Miraculous has commonly placed her as a Orange Ranger of a fox-theme, since as few known past Power Rangers and teams were of animal related themes. Being a female had even got a few people to place Alya as a Yellow or Pink Ranger.
