Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir

Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir (also known as Miraculous Ladybug and Cat Noir, Miraculous, or Miraculous Ladybug) is a CGI animated French superhero series that is co-directed by Thomas Astruc and co-production between ZAG Animation, Method Animation, Disney Channel EMEA, Toei Animation, SAMG Animation, SK Broadband, PGS Entertainment and AB International Distribution. The series was aired worldwide around 2015, and each one of the three seasons (with two more on the way) have 26 half-hour episodes, along with it having a web series and some additional web exclusive content released after its first season.

In 2020 the series began to create a special television film series known as Miraculous World, as the two main heroes travel beyond France as they visit countries like America, Asia, Brisiel, Africa and England, while still preforming their hero duties beside the new friends they make on the way. While Jeremy Zag has created a musical film that his own take on the series, and plans to make two other films to follow after it.

Plot[]

The series follows two young teenagers who are intrusted with magical jewellery, known as a Miraculous, to keep the city of Paris France safe from threats like Hawk Moth as Ladybug (Marinette Dupain-Cheng) and Cat Noir (Adrien Agreste). Because the two don't know each other's secret identities, Marinette has no idea that her partner is her high school crush while Adrian isn't aware that one of his friends is his superheroin crush; along with having no idea that his own father is the villain who sends akumatized people (people that have been turned into villains through the Butterfly Miraculous) to get a hold of the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses from the main duo.

  • Marinette Dupain-Cheng/Ladybug (Cristina Vee) is a young half-France half-Chinese girl who holds the power of creation through the Ladybug Miraculous, whenever it is inhabited by her Kwami and friend, Tikki. At the end of season three, Marinette becomes the new guardian of the Chinese Miracle Box.
  • Adrien Agreste/Cat Noir (Bryce Papenbrook) is a young teenager holds the power of destruction through the Cat Miraculous, whenever it is inhabited by his Kwami and friend, Plagg.
  • Tikki (Mela Lee) is the Ladybug Kwami who helps her owner to become Ladybug by inhabiting the Ladybug Miraculous.
  • Plagg (Max Mittelman) is the Cat Kwami who helps his owner to become Cat Noir by inhabiting the Cat Miraculous.
  • Alya Césaire/Rena Rouge (Carrie Keranen) is Marinette's best friend and a big fan of Ladybug, while having no idea that she is Marinette. Whenever Ladybug and Cat Noir need help, Alya is temporally entrusted with the Fox Miraculous that holds the power of illusions.
  • Nino Lahiffe/Carapace (Ben Diskin) is Adrien's best friend and Alya's boyfriend, while having no idea that Adrien and Marinette are Cat Noir and Ladybug. Whenever Ladybug and Cat Noir need help, Nino is temporally entrusted with the Turtle Miraculous that holds the power of protection.

  • Chloé Bourgeois/Queen Bee (Selah Victor) is the spoiled daughter of Mayor Bourgeois, Adrien's childhood friend and Marinette's long time bully. A kinder side to Chloé, however, had started to slowly surface after she became the off and on user of the Bee Miraculous; but because she didn't keep her hero identity a secret Hawk Moth was able to take advantage of her.
  • Sabrina Raincomprix/Miss Hound (Cassandra Lee Morris) is Chloé's friend who acts like a personal slave to maintain their friendship. The two occasions when Sabrina has been akumatized have involved Chloé pushing Sabrina away, but when her friend was akumatized for the second time in season four, Sabrina become Miss Hound through the Dog Miraculous into order to save her.

  • Alix Kubdel/Bunnyx (Kira Buckland) is a young roller-skating Parisian who resides in the Louvre with her historian father and brother. In season three Alix meets her future adult self who reveals to her younger self that she'll one day become the time travelling Rabbit heroin, Bunnix.
  • Rose Lavillant/Pigella (Reba Buhr) is a sweet girl who is best friends with Juleka. Season two reveals that the two are members of a band they formed with Ivan and Juleka's older brother, Luka. In season four Rose becomes the new off and on Pig-themed heroin, Pigella.
  • Juleka Couffaine/Purple Tigress (Reba Buhr) is a goth style girl who is best friends with Rose. Season two reveals that she has an older brother named Luka and plays guitar with him in the band they formed with Rose and Ivan. In season four Juleka becomes the new off and on Tiger-themed heroin, Purple Tigress.

  • Nathaniel Kurtzberg/Caprikid (Michael Sinterniklaas) is the shy artist of Mariette's classmates who had a crush on her become moving onto Ladybug, without knowing that they are the same person. He teams up with Marc as his latter for his comicbook drawings in season two, while season four has him become the Goat-themed hero, Caprikid. Even though many were hoping that he would have been given the Rooster Miraculous.
  • Wang Fu (Paul St. Peter) is the last surviving Great Guardian of the Order that ensured that the Miraculouses are intrusted to those who will use them for good. Sometime after the Oder returned and he was forced to hide from Hawk Moth, Fu gives up both his Guardian title and the ownership of the Chinese Miraculouses so he can pass them down to Marinette as his successor.
  • Luka Couffaine/Viperion (Andrew Russell) is a young talented guitarist who become very close with Marinette. Whenever Ladybug and Cat Noir need help, Luka is temporally entrusted with the Snake Miraculous that holds the power of second chance.
  • Kagami Tsurugi/Ryuko (Faye Mata) is a young Japanese girl who moved to Paris with her mother and befriends Adrien through fencing. When Ladybug and Cat Noir needed help to fight her akumiatsed mother, Kagami was temporally entrusted with the Dragon Miraculous that holds the power to control the three elements air, water and lightning.
  • Marc Anciel/Rooster Bold (Kyle McCarley) is a shy young writer who combines his words with Nathinal's artwork to create a Ladybug and Cat Noir that has their akumiatsed selves as reformed villains who become the main duo's new allies. There are theories that Marc might one day be entrusted with the Goat Miraculous, but ends up being given the Rooster Miraculous to become Rooster Bold.

Season four leaks reveal that Pollen will be entrusted to a new "Queen Bee", Zoé Lee.
  • Duusu (Melissa Fahn) is the Peacock Kwami who helps his owner to become a Peacock-themed hero or villain by inhabiting the Peacock Miraculous. Even though his Miraculous was damaged and two of the modern past users have suffered the affects of using a damaged Miraculous, Duusu physically appears to be unaffected by it; but he has shown concern for Nathalie's health.
  • Sass (Ben Diskin) is the Snake Kwami who helps his owner to become a Snake-themed hero by inhabiting the Snake Miraculous.
  • Kaalki (Deneen Melody) is the Horse Kwami who helps her owner to become a Horse-themed hero by inhabiting the Horse Miraculous.
  • Fluff (Ryan Bartley) is the Rabbit Kwami who helps his owner to become a Rabbit-themed hero by inhabiting the Rabbit Miraculous. Season Three reveals that some point in the future of the main duo's adulthood, Fluff and her Miraculous be entrusted to Alix who's future self uses it to become Bunnix.
  • Longg (Marie Nonnenmacher; French) is the Dragon Kwami who helps his owner to become a Dragon-themed hero by inhabiting the Dragon Miraculous.
  • Félix Fathom (Bryce Papenbrook) is Adrien's cousin who can easily pass for his identical twin brother. Unlike Adrien, however, Félix is cold to those who aren't his mother and does want he can to please her, even if it means enlisting the help of Hawk Moth and his akumatized champions.
  • Xuppu (Tex Hammond) is the Monkey Kwami who helps his owner to become a Monkey-themed hero by inhabiting the Monkey Miraculous.
  • Daizzi () is the Pig Kwami who helps his owner to become a Pig-themed hero by inhabiting the Pig Miraculous. In season four, Daizzi gets entrusted to Rose Lavillant in "Guiltrip" in order to help her become Pigella.
  • Mullo (Deneen Melody) is the Mouse Kwami who helps her owner to become a House-themed hero by inhabiting the Mouse Miraculous. In season four, Mullo will get entrusted to Mylène so she may become Multimouse.
  • Roaar () is the Tiger Kwami who helps her owner to become a Tiger-themed hero by inhabiting the Tiger Miraculous. In season four, Roaar gets entrusted to Juleka Couffaine in "Crocoduel" in order to help her become Purple Tigress.
  • Orikko () is the Rooter Kwami who helps their owner to become a Rooter-themed hero by inhabiting the Rooter Miraculous.

  • Zoé Lee/Vesperia () is Chloé's half-sister as they share a mother but have different fathers. Some point after she befriends Marinette, Zoé is made the new on-off holder of the Bee Miraculous in her sister's as the new bee/wasp-themed heroin, Vesperia.

Villains[]

  • Gabriel Agreste/Hawk Moth/Shadow Moth/Monarch (Keith Silverstein) is the main antagonist of the series, he wasn't revealed to be the evil user of the Butterfly Miraculous until season two aired and akumatized himself to throw his enemies off the sent. Even though Gabriel is a cold man, he does love his family and seeks to cure his ill wife through the wish that the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses are said to grant when they are brought together.
  • Nathalie Sancoeur/Mayura (Sabrina Weisz) is Gabriel's loyal assistant who knows his secret and helps him to get his hands on the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses as Mayura; despite the dangers of using a damaged Miraculous.
  • Lila Rossi (Lisa Kay Jennings) is a young Italian teen who makes friends through lies to make herself likeable, while hiding her cruel cunning nature that has caught the attention of Hawk Moth.
