Luca AU (also known as Sea Monster AU) is a relatively new AU, in which the Big Four are sea monsters. This AU can be considered as a sub-scenario of Monster AU.
About the AU[]
In this AU, members of the Big Four are cast as sea monsters. As the name implies, the setting usually mirrors Disney Pixar's Luca, though this is not required.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III[]
Due to how Hiccup's young teem self from the first HTTYD film was presented and how his friendship with Toothless helped Hiccup to become the person he is now, it has Hiccup being an ideal choice for the role of Luca Paguro. Since there have already been fans who have featured Hiccup as a type of Sea Monster from the world of the 2021 Pixar film.
Jack Frost[]
Being on his own for a long time, longed for a friend who'll end his loneliness and embraces fun whenever he can, can easily portray Jack as Alberto Scorfano. He has also been featured as a type of Sea Monsters from the world of Pixar's Luca.
Merida DunBroch[]
Merida's red hair and being Pixar character could have her as Giulia Marcovaldo. Just as her being free-spirited and would rather have fun than to undergo a type of training that others wanted her to do, could possibly cast her as Alberto Scorfano.
Rapunzel Corona[]
Rapunzel could be cast as Luca Paguro as both characters are curious and imaginative and their love of reading.

Dagur the Deranged[]
Fans have cast Dagur as Alberto Scorfano for the Dagcup pairing. Like Alberto, Dagur can be bit of a dare devil, was alone on an island before Hiccup finds him on the said island, had his father leave him and was upset when he felt that the person he saw as a friend preferring someone else who isn't a member of their kind. Until he learns that he can't keep Hiccup to himself and just as how Alberto was able to find a new family within Massimo Marcovaldo and the Paguro family, Dagur is able to reconnect with his long lost sister and gained new allies within Hiccup and his friends.

Fans casting Hiccup as Luca could have Stoick as Lorenzo Paguro, even though he is more like Daniela Paguro.
Valka[]
Fans casting Hiccup as Luca could have Valka as Daniela Paguro, even though Valka is more care free then Daniela is and allows her son to be himself.
Gobber the Belch[]
Fans casting Hiccup as Luca could have Gobber as Uncle Ugo, since Gobber is like an uncle to Hiccup and can be odd at times.
Gothi[]
Although she doesn't speak, Gothi could be cast as Grandma Paguro; since Hiccup is sometimes cast as Luca and some like to view Gothi as a grandmother-like figure to him.

Because of the similar spelling of their first names and how fans like to swap the c in Luca with a k, they portray Luka Couffaine as Luca Paguro.

Marinette has commonly been depicted as a type of Sea Monster from the world of Luca, the color scheme of her sea monster form is mostly based on her iconic red and block Ladybug colors. She has also been cast as Giulia Marcovaldo or a female version of Luca Paguro.

Just as Alberto being a fun seeking shapeshifter with green colored eyes and yellow colored clothing has led to him be commonly portrayed as Camilo Madrigal in an AU of Encanto, the Luca AU can have Camilo be cast as Alberto Scorfano for those traits that they share with one another.
