Plot[]
Luca Paguro is a young sea monster who dreams about the wonders of the surface despite his family telling him that it is dangerous, and he tries to be a good kid for them. Luca's curiosity of the "land monster's" world leads to him meeting another young sea monster called Alberto Scorfano, who lives on the surface island that is above Luca's undersea home. Alberto help Luca to adjust to the human form their kind is given when their skin is dry, along with showing him the amazing things about the surface. Like the Vespa as the two work together to build their own one. When Luca's parents found out that Luca's secret interest of the surface world and has been going above water behind their backs, they planned to send him to the deep with his creepy uncle so they can keep their son away from the surface. Luca didn't see it that way and runs away with Alberto to the near by human town. That is known for hunting sea monsters. Luckily the two meet Giulia Marcovaldo and her father, Massimo Marcovaldo who take the boys in after they agreed to help Giulia beat the local bully, Ercole Visconti in the Portorosso Cup Triathlon. All while doing whatever they can to keep themselves dry so they won't be exposed as sea monsters.
