Lalotai
Lalotai (also known as the Realm of Monsters) is a realm inhabited by monsters that appears in the Disney 2016 film Moana.
Location[]
The island that is the gateway to the monster realm resides in the South Pacific ocean.
Characteristics[]
Also known as the Realm of Monsters, the entrance to Lalotai can be accessed atop a high mountain on a remote island. The passageway (a pit) leads to an undersea environment homed to a number of exotic, demonic and ferocious creatures — one of which being Tamatoa, a villainous giant crab.

Tamatoa's Lair[]

Tamatoa's Lair
Tamatoa's lair is a giant, upward spiraling seashell said to be located in the deepest, darkest part of Lalotai. Inside lies a wide array of golds and shiny treasures that had been hoarded by the villainous crab for thousands of years. The very top of the shell has an opening that acts as the only source of light, as well as the source of Tamatoa's food supply; fish from the sea catch a glimpse of Tamatoa's glittering shell below them and are immediately attracted to it. As such, they mindlessly swim into his seashell's opening, falling into his lair and into his mouth. There is also a cage made from discarded bones on the right of the lair's interior, which Tamatoa uses to hold his prisoners.
When the seashell's light source is covered, it is revealed that the lair is covered almost entirely in a type of bioluminescent paint, which gives it (and the material inside) a glowing, neon appearance.
Role in the Crossover[]
While it may not be a place where monsters that check in Hotel Transylvania would live, the Realm would most likely be filled with monsters that wish harm on mankind and where banished there. Pitch's Nightmare Pirate crew would most likely have been set to the realm after their caption's defeat and to keep them for harming innocent people. Lalotai might also be somewhere within, all around, above, or below the Hidden World, given its subterranean nature, and also the behaviour of every monster there to be all against humanity, like the dragons.
