Hunger Games AU

The Hunger Games is a popular AU (Alternate Universe) within the Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons fandom.
In the AU, Rapunzel, Merida, Hiccup and Jack Frost all live in the dystopian, post-apocalyptic nation of Panem during the age of the Hunger Games. Because it is not canon, ideas for this AU are shown through fanfiction, fanart, and other fan-made works. This can be considered a sub-scenario to the War AU and Sci-FI AU.

About the AU

Based on the popular "Hunger Games" series written by Suzanne Collins, the fandom sets in the fictional world of Panem (where the Hunger Games takes place). The Big Four are usually tributes in the Hunger Games. Depending on the author, the story can either mirror the events of "The Hunger Games," replacing the characters of the story with characters in the RotBTD fandom, or have a completely different set of games not including the characters of the books at all.

Featured Characters

The Big Four are often members of different districts, thrust together during the Hunger Games in an effort to fight for survival. Some people, however, place the characters of the Big Four in roles of the characters in the series. For example, some people will have Merida star as Katniss Everdeen.

Merida DunBroch

Some fandoms have shown Merida to be like Katniss in the fandom, because of the similarites with their skills of archery. Clan DunBroch's crest can serve as her district's mark.

Rapunzel Corona

Some fandoms associate her with Primrose Everdeen, Katniss's sister. Corona's sun crest can serve as her district's mark.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III

With the shippings of Mericcup and Jarida, some fans often put a rivalry between Hiccup and Jack. Hiccup might be considered to be Peeta in fandoms, or Gale, depending on the shipper. A Night Fury or the Strike Class mark is used as the Mockingjay on the pin and the franchise's logo, Berk's crest, the logo on Hiccup's HTTYD2 shoulder pad, Toothless' tailfin or the Strike class mark can also serve as his district's mark.

Jack Frost

Much like Hiccup, shippers portray him as either Gale or Peeta. He can also be cast as a male Katniss, when his sister or Jamie Bennett is Primrose.

Extra Characters

Queen Elsa

Some fandoms associate her with Katniss and Anna as Primrose, but instead of the Girl on Fire, Elsa is seen as the Girl on Ice. Her kingdom's crest or her main snowflake can also serve as her district's mark.
