Robin Hood AU (also known as Sherwood Forest AU) is a AU (Alternate Universe) within the Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons fandom. In the AU, Rapunzel, Merida, Hiccup and Jack Frost are featured as characters from the tales and legends of Robin Hood. This can be considered an offshoot to Crime AU and Fairy Tale AU.

About the AU[]

Spawning from Fanart, this AU places the Big Four, and other such characters, as characters from Disney's Robin Hood, or any other version of the tale about the archer outlaw and his allies that robs from the rich and give what they have stolen to the poor.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III[]

Being the leader of a group that fights for those in need from people who care about gold and power, and is shown to have some skills in archery, Hiccup can easily be portrayed as the outlaw, Robin Hood. As green is seen as one of Hiccup's main colors, while red was his color in Race to the Edge and later became black in both the second and third films. There have also been rare occasions when fans have portrayed Hiccup as a male version of Maid Marian.

In the kids cartoon of Robin Hood and his allies' childhood, Robin Hood: Mischief in Sherwood, Robin and his friends are close with a dragon who was accidently turned into a hamster, but still helps child Robin and the gang with magic related trouble. Along with season three of the series having the cartoon's characters facing a group of attacking Vikings, who decided to settle next to their home kingdom.

Jack Frost[]

Jack is seen as a blue clothed Robin Hood, since some modern crossovers have Jack stealing food for street kids and anything else that might bring a smile on their faces, similar to how Robin steals gold for those who need it more. In Disney's animal animated version of the story, (fox) Robin had brought a smile to a young boy that looks up to him on his seventh birthday, a bit like how Jack restored Jamie's believeth in the Guardians when he was about to give up on them. There have also been rare occasions when fans have Jack as a male version of Maid Marian.

Merida DunBroch[]

Due to Merida's archery skills and red hair (since Disney's 1973 version of the story has the outlaw as a fox), she can be portrayed as the female take on Robin Hood. While being a royal could make her Maid Marian, as some versions of the story do have Marian as a brave young woman who does whatever she can to help her outlaw lover, and knows how to defend herself in a fight.

Rapunzel Corona[]

Being a royal who fell in love with a thief easily portrays her as Maid Marian. In Tangled: The Series Rapunzel is given a pink flower ring from Eugene that looks a bit like the ring that Robin gave to Marian in Disney's 1973 animated film of Robin Hood.

Extra Characters[]

Flynn Rider[]

Since Flynn is a thief who fell in love with a royal and (later) uses his thieving to help people, Flynn can easily be portrayed as Robin Hood. While his friend, Lance Strongbow can be cast as Little John and some of the Pub Thugs can serve as their Merrymen. In the Tangled TV series Eugene gave a pink flower ring to Rapunzel that looks a bit like the ring that Robin gave to Marian, in Disney's animal version of the story.

Prince Hans[]

Being a prince that desires the throne and is a villain, can easily portray Hans as Prince John. Since the other three main human characters of Frozen have been portrayed as Robin, Little John and Marian, pleasing those who want to feature all four Frozen characters in the same AU.

Olaf[]

Some fans have either cast or simply dressed Olaf up as Robin Hood, for fun. There are also a few fans who are hoping that any future Olaf Presents shorts would have the snowman preforming Disney's animated film version of Robin Hood.

Princess Anna[]

For the Kristanna pairing, fans have Anna as Maid Marian. There have also been fans that have Anna as a female Robin Hood, which might be due to some of her dresses being green, the color of her red hair and the fact that Disney had Robin as a fox in its animal, animated version of the story.

Kristoff Bjorgman[]

For the Kristanna pairing, fans have Kristoff as Robin Hood. There have also been fans that have Kristoff as Little John, during the times when the role of Robin is given to Anna or someone else entirely.

Lance Strongbow[]

Being Eugene's partner in crime and friend, who has given stolen treasures to those who need it more, Lance has been cast as Little John while Eugene serves as Robin Hood beside him.

Cassandra[]

Being Rapunzel's friend and handmaiden, Cassandra can be placed as Disney's 1973 version of Marian's lady-in-waiting, Lady Kluck; as they both wear a blue colored dress while serving their lady and aren't afraid to join in a fight.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng[]

Marinette has been cast as Maid Marian for the Adrienette pairing. There have also been times when she is cast as a female version of Robin Hood through her Ladybug person.

Adrien Agreste[]

Adrien has been cast as Robin Hood for the Adrienette pairing. While Adrien's upper class upbringing has inspired a few fans to portray him as a male version of Maid Marian or a Marian-like character, who falls in love with a red and black spotted thief and creates a black cat-themed persona so he can secretly help Ladybug behind his father's back as Cat Noir. This could have him serving as a Little John-like character, as well as Marian.

Alya Césaire[]

Alya can be cast as Lady Kluck or simply a handmaiden who is a friend to Maid Marian, for when Marinette is cast as her. While the times when Marinette's Ladybug persona casts her as a version of female Rabin Hood, Alya's Rena Rouge persona can have her as a genderband Little John. There have also been times have fans have her as a female version of Friar Tuck, that is a Sister than a Friar.

Nino Lahiffe[]

Nino can be cast as Little John, for when Adrien is cast as Robin Hood. While the times that Adrian is seen as a male version of Marian could have Nino as a genderbend Lady Kluck or simply a servant who is a friend to the young royal.

Queen Elsa[]

Elsa being a royal can portray her as Maid Marian. There have also been times when she is cast as a female version of Robin Hood, for fun. Like with Jack, Robin's iconic green color scheme is sometimes changed to blue, so the role can better suit Elsa.

Astrid Hofferson[]

Astrid could be portrayed as Maid Marian, since there have been a few known warrior versions of Maid Marian who assists Robin whenever or whatever way she can, as well as being acquainted with a dragon. Like the young child version of Marian is in the kids cartoon series, Robin Hood: Mischief in Sherwood, that also has Robin, Marian and gang facing a Viking tribe in season three.

Justin[]

Justin's red hair and green colored clothes can cast him as Robin Hood, since Robin's signer color is green and a few known versions of the archer hero thief has him with red colored hair.
