Arcade AU is an AU (Alternate Universe) within the Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons fandom. In the AU, the Big Four are characters from their own, individual arcade games in Litwak's Arcade from Disney's Wreck-It Ralph.

About the AU[]

Though this concept was talked about in forums and blogs, it was never fully realized until the Icebreaker pairing was made.

In this AU, Jack, Merida, Hiccup, Rapunzel and other such characters are found in different arcade games in the arcade, sharing the same digital universe as Ralph and his friends. Whether or not the games they came from are video game adaptations of their own respective films (from our real world or not) differs from story to story.

The most common scenario in this AU places the characters as super-deformed versions of themselves as racers in Sugar Rush, but this is not required.

Spinoff Game AUs[]

Featured Characters[]

The Big Four[]

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III[]

Because of Hiccup's talent to bond with dragons and trains them up before he begins to ride them, fans tend to feature Hiccup in dragon/beast taming related video games that can allow him to be given beast trainer related roles. As well as placing him in games that have Dragon and Viking-like references from him being a Viking Dragon Rider.

When Hiccup is cast as a Sugar Rush Racer, he sometimes has both of his legs or is given a sugary-food version of his prosthetic leg. That is based on and made to look like the sugary theme that he is given. There have also been fans who have cast Hiccup as a Vanellope von Schweetz-like character, due to how his friends first treated him, before he met Toothless and ended Berk's war with the dragons and Hiccup being a type of racer in the Dragon Racing that was featured in How to Train Your Dragon 2, the video game of it and the Dawn of the Dragon Racers short.

The second Wreck-It Ralph film featuring the physical world within the real-life Internet and has Vanellope meeting the Netizen versions of Rapunzel, Merida, Anna, Elsa and Moana (which are cameos of them), could have Hiccup as the "Netizen Hiccup" from the How to Train Your Dragon online game, School of Dragons (before it was taken down), the mobile app game Rise of Berk or from any other online/mobile game or website that is connected to the HTTYD film franchise.

Jack Frost[]

Because of Jack's magical abilities and has a staff as a signer weapon to help him wield his powers, fans tend to feature Jack in fantasy related video games that allows him to be given a spellcaster related roles.

When Jack is featured as a Sugar Rush Racer, his sugary theme is of icy sweets and treats. It is sometimes of a frosting style theme on his Sugar Rush clothing, Go-kart and racing name, due to his name (when it is changed to "Jack Frosting") or of a candy cane theme (that is blue striped instead of red) when his staff is made to look like one. He can also be cast as a male Vanellope Von Schweetz for his fun-loving, rebellious, brave, fun seeking and outgoing personality. Even though his blue color scheme and the way Jack has carried his staff has got a small number of fans to place Jack in the role of Fix-It Felix, Jr., for when the role of Vanellope or any other WiR character is given to someone else in the same piece of fan work that Jack happens to be apart of.

The second Wreck-It Ralph film featuring the physical world within the real-life Internet and has Vanellope meeting the Netizen versions of Rapunzel, Merida, Anna, Elsa and Moana (which are cameos of them), could have Jack as the "Netizen Jack" from a online/mobile game or website that is connected to Rise of the Guardians.

Merida DunBroch[]

When Merida is featured as a Sugar Rush Racer, her theme is sometimes of green gumdrops or of sweet buns, as a pun to her last name when "Dun", in DunBroch, is replaced with "Gum" or "Bun" to make it GumBroch and BunBroch. Her bun theme could even be connected to the cake form of the fate changing spell, that the witch gave her.

For when Merida is portrayed as one of the original characters from the Wreck-It Ralph franchise, she can quite possibly can be cast as Vanellope Von Schweetz. For their brave, outgoing, rebellious and athletic personality. While Merida's tough personality and being a type of female warrior can also cast her as Sergeant Calhoun. Sometimes for fun or when the Big Four are featured as the four main characters from the 2012 film, Merida has been placed as Wreck-It Ralph.

In the second Wreck-It Ralph film, Ralph Breaks the Internet, a cameo of Merida (that is a Netizen version of her) is seen in the film. Which could have fans portray Merida as her online-avatar cameo, for fun. That is from the Disney website, On My Disney or any other website, an online game or a mobile game that is connected to Brave.

Rapunzel Corona[]

When Rapunzel is featured as a Sugar Rush Racer, her theme is often debated. Because she already has a sweet personality and is friends with Attila (who bakes amazing cupcakes), she can often be placed as a cupcake themed racer, or possibly a theme with rock candy (symbolizing her connection to the Black Rocks).

Even though some may have used Rapunzel's blond hair as a means to either cast or dress her up as Sergeant Calhoun, for when she and other characters in the fandom have been portrayed as one of the original characters from the Wreck-It Ralph franchise, there are those who think that she'll be better off being cast as Vanellope Von Schweetz instead. To not only reference the times Rapunzel has be depicted as a Sugar Rush Racer, but also for some of the characteristic traits that Rapunzel and Vanellope may share, like the two being princesses who find themselves befriending those who have been judged for what they are than who they are.

In the second Wreck-It Ralph film, Ralph Breaks the Internet, a cameo of Rapunzel (that is a Netizen version of her) is seen in the film. This could have fans portray Rapunzel as her online-avatar cameo, for fun. That is from the Disney website, On My Disney or any other website, an online game or a mobile game that is connected to Tangled.

Extra Characters[]

Wreck-It Ralph[]

Since Ralph is already someone who lives and works in a arcade game, he is commonly portrayed as himself (much like how Hiccup is portrayed as himself in the Viking AU).

Fix-It Felix, Jr.[]

Since Felix is someone that lives and is part of an arcade game, he is commonly portrayed as himself (much like how Flynn Rider is portrayed as himself in Rapunzel AU).

Vanellope von Schweetz[]

Since Vanellope is already someone who lives and is part of an arcade game (before "moving" into an online), she is commonly portrayed as herself (much like how Jack is portrayed as himself in the Seasons Guardians AU).

Sergeant Tamora Jean Calhoun[]

Since Calhoun is already someone who lives and is part of an arcade game, she is commonly portrayed as herself (much like how Maui is portrayed as himself in Wayfinder AU).

King Candy[]

Since King Candy/Turbo is already someone who lived and "was" part of two arcade games, he is commonly portrayed as himself (much like how Gothel is portrayed as herself in the Rapunzel AU).

The Once-ler[]

Fans have cast the Once-ler as Vanellope's big, caring brother, King Once-Lick (due to sibling fanon side of the Vaniller pairing), that became King Greed-Pop (which is based on his Greed-er side) when a virus took over and filled him up with greed. He can also be the Bad Guy in his own game, that is based on The Lorax film; bad and mean for when the arcade is opened and later becomes his kind and helpful self when the arcade is closed for the night. Much like Ralph.

Princess Anna[]

When Elsa is placed as a Wreck-It Ralph-like character and the "bad-guy" of their home game (that is based on Frozen), Anna can be cast as a Fix-It Felix-like character and the "good-guy" of their game.

In the second Wreck-It Ralph film, Ralph Breaks the Internet, a cameo of Anna (that is a online-avatar/Netizen version of her) is seen in the film. Which could have fans portray Anna as her online-avatar cameo, for fun. That is from the Disney website, On My Disney or any other website that is connected to Frozen or from an online or mobile game of the film.

Queen Elsa[]

Elsa's original role as the main antagonist, in one of the early drafts of Frozen and the original design of Evil Elsa is commonly used in Dark AU, it could have her as the "Bad-Guy" of her home game and attends the Bad-Anon: One Game at a Time meetings with the arcade's other bad guys. It could also cast her as a Wreck-It Ralph-like character, as the Icebreaker pairing sometimes has Elsa and Ralph swapping clothes for fun, it is the same with the Elsanellope pairing; which can portrayed Elsa as a older version of Vanellope von Schweetz or have a younger version of Elsa for the role.

Fans also have Elsa as a Sugar Rush Racer, with a icy treat food, like ice cream or snowballs, as her sugary theme. On her Sugar Rush clothing and Go-Kart. Some of her Sugar Rush clothing is made to look like her blue snow queen dress or of the clothing that she wore at her coronation, with her gloves as racing glove and her crown as a accessory in her tieback hair.

In the second Wreck-It Ralph film, Ralph Breaks the Internet, a cameo of Elsa (that is a online-avatar/Netizen version of her) is seen in the film. Which could have fans portray Elsa as her online-avatar cameo, for fun. That is from the Disney website, On My Disney, or any other website that is connected to Frozen or from an online or mobile game of the film.

Mr. Peabody[]

Since Mr. Peabody is one of the inspirations for one of the Netizen characters from Ralph Breaks the Internet, he could be cast as the know-it-all Netizen that powers The Searchbar, KnowsMore, as they both wear glasses and bowties and knows many useful facts.

Hiro Hamada[]

Sometimes for the Vaniro pairing, when Hiro is placed in Vanellope's clothes for fun, could have fans portray him as a older, taller, male version of Vanellope von Schweetz. Fans also have Hiro as a Sugar Rush Racer, sometimes with gummy bears as his sugary theme; while Baymax's white body has him as a Sugar rush civilian that is made out of marshmallows.

In the second Wreck-It Ralph film, Ralph Breaks the Internet, there cameos of the Big Hero team (that are a online-avatar/Netizen versions of them) that were seen in the film. Even though netizen Hiro wasn't seen in the 2018 film, fans could still portray Hiro as a online-avatar RBTI cameo of him, for fun. That is from the Disney website, On My Disney or any other website that is connected to Big Hero 6 or from an online or mobile game of the film.

Moana Waialiki[]

In the second Wreck-It Ralph film, Ralph Breaks the Internet, a cameo of Moana (that is a online-avatar/Netizen version of her) is seen in the film. This could have fans portray Moana as her online-avatar cameo, for fun. That is from the Disney website, On My Disney, or any other website that is connected to the Moana film or from an online or mobile game of the film.

Princess Elena[]

Because Elena is Disney Princess, fans sometimes like to give Elena her own version of the modern, comfy Ralph Breaks the Internet style clothing, for fun.

Raya[]

Because Raya is Disney Princess, fans sometimes like to give Raya her own modern comfy Ralph Breaks the Internet style clothing, for fun.

E. Aster Bunnymund[]

If Bunny is put into the storyline of Disney's Wreck-It Ralph franchise, Bunny's tough, strong, fierce and mature personality could have a male version of him as Sergeant Calhoun. While being first started off disliking Jack before they later became friends can also have him as Taffyta Muttonfudge.
