Red Riding Hood AU (also known as Little Red Riding Hood AU) is an AU in the fandom where the Big Four are portrayed as characters from the classic Grimm Fairy Tale Little Red Riding Hood. This is considered a sub-scenario to Fairy Tale AU.
About the AU[]
Spawning from fanart, this AU places the Big Four, and other such characters in the fandom, as characters from the fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood.
Since the Big Bad Wolf is sometimes featured as a werewolf, fans like to consider this AU an alternative to Werewolf AU. While fans commonly giving wolf ears, tail and other wolf-like features to those that they have cast as the Big Bad Wolf, could also have it as an alternative with Hybrid AU.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III[]
Because of the Hijack and Toothcup pairings and of his adventurous personality, Hiccup has been portrayed with the male role of Little Red Riding Hood. While the Mericcup and Hiccstrid pairings have him as the Big Bad Wolf.
Jack Frost[]
Because of his intrusive and wild personality, Jack Frost is most often portrayed as the Big Bad Wolf. In some other cases, however, he is given the male role of Little Red Riding Hood. Sometimes with a blue cloak instead of red one, to match or simply resemble his hoodie.
Merida DunBroch[]
Because of her interest in the wilderness and her bright-red hair, Merida is most often portrayed as Little Red Riding Hood.
In ABC's Once Upon a Time, the show's version of Merida meets its werewolf version of Red Riding.
Rapunzel Corona[]
Since Rapunzel has spent time in the woods (in both the film and its TV series, where she had a short encounter with a wolf in its television film, that started the series off), it can portray her as Little Red Riding Hood.

She plays Little Red Riding Hood most likely because of her sense of individuality. Elsa also plays the Big Bad Wolf (with snowy, white fur), when Anna is Little Red Riding Hood. Fans sometimes use one of the Frozen wolves as her wolf form, for when she is placed as a whole wolf form, and it not given wolf ears and tail that makes her a human-wolf hybrid (or werewolf).
Prince Arthur[]
In the end credits of Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs, Arthur comes across Little Red Ridding who is flattered that he wants to give her a flower. After she was revealed to be a werewolf she was worried that it would cause Arthur to reject her, but seeing Merlin exacting the inner beauty of Snow White has Arthur expecting her werewolf form.
E. Aster Bunnymund[]
Bunny has been portrayed Big Bad Wolf, as like Bunny the said wolf character is sometimes featured as an animal that can walk, talk and dress himself like a human. Just as Bunny is a humanoid rabbit that acts like a human and wears human-like clothes (in the original Guardians of Childhood books).
Death[]
In promotional material of the second Puss in Boots film they have addressed the Wolf as "Big Bad Wolf," even though the Shrek franchise already has its own version of the said fairy tale wolf. Despite these facts, the existence of darker versions of Little Red Riding Hood and other known fairy tales could still have fans feature Death the Wolf as the Big Bad Wolf. Most likely as one of the known darker counterparts of the Grimm character.
