Star Wars AU (also known as Jedi/Sith AU) is an AU (Alternate Universe) within the Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons fandom. In the AU, Rapunzel, Merida, Hiccup and Jack Frost are placed into the vast intergalactic universe of Star Wars. This is considered a sub-scenario to Sci-Fi AU.

About the AU[]

In this AU, the Big Four (and other related characters) exist within the vast and diverse realm of George Lucas' Star Wars.

The characters are most commonly portrayed as Jedi - special people with the power to wield a cosmic power known as the Force - and Sith, their evil counterparts. Fans can use the post-Disney canon, the Star Wars Legends (old Expanded Universe), or even unused concepts from George Lucas' earlier drafts.

Due to Disney creating two separate anime series of the Star Wars universe, Star Wars: Resistance and Star Wars: Visions, fans can possibly consider this AU an alternative with Anime AU. Just as both the Lego series and video games of the Star Wars franchise can also have it as an alternative with both Lego AU and Arcade AU. Along with Pirate AU and Crime AU, to reference the pirates and criminals that were featured in the franchise.

Featured Characters[]

The Big Four[]

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III[]

Hiccup is cast between a Pilot, a Rebel and a Jedi from the Barbaric Archipelago System, while wielding a Green Bladed Lightsaber. The handle of his Lightsaber can resemble or be made to look similar to the handle of the Inferno. While it differs from story to story, some fans have Hiccup being completely unaware that he is force sensitive, until he comes across his believed to be dead mother (who is commonly seen as a Jedi), and learns from her that he too has a strong connection with the force. As well as having Hiccup as the son of a Resistance General and the Chief of the planet Berk. Due to the style of Hiccup's dragon scaled flightsuit it has inspired a few to place him as a Mandalorian, with a dragon as his clan's mark.

In other circumstances, Hiccup has been cast between the two Skywalker Jedi, Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker. As well as casting him as a male Rey. Hiccup can also be portrayed as Poe Dameron, given his skills in flying with Toothless, while his Terrible Terror companion Sharpshot may be portrayed as BB-8.

Jack Frost[]

Jack is a Jedi with a unique and rare ability and that ability is the reason why Darth Black tries to get him join the Dark Side. Jack, however, knows that the Empire would only use him to hurt people and that's why he joined a group of rebels and other Jedi. Jack wields a double bladed (blue) Lightsaber that resembles his staff. Should he be given the task to train someone in the ways of the force, his apprentice would most likely be Jamie, due to the strong bond that the two share and Jamie's strong belief in the Guardians.

In other circumstances, Jack has been cast between the two Skywalker Jedi, Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker, for when North is Obi-Wan Kenobi. Along with the roles of Finn and Kylo Ren/Ben Solo.

Merida DunBroch[]

Merida is a princess that is force sensitive and a leader of a group of rebels. After she came across a surviving Jedi master, she asked them to teach her the ways of the force so she too could become a Jedi and hope for the galaxy. Merida can wield a Lightsaber that has been given a bow mode (like the way Ezra's first Lightsaber doubles as a blaster), Blaster or a Crossbow, due to her skills of marksmanship with her bow.

In other circumstances, Merida is sometimes portrayed as Padmé Amidala, whenever Hiccup or Jack is seen as Anakin. While being a natural survivor can also cast her as Rey. Fans have also casted her as Ahsoka Tano, due to her headstrong nature.

Rapunzel Corona[]

Rapunzel is a Jedi with a pink Lightsaber when she is a blond and a yellow whip-like saber when she's a brunette. While Gothel is the Sith that tries to bring Rapunzel over to the dark side, by threatening her friends, family and people. There have even been fans who have portrayed or simply dressed Rapunzel up as a Mandalorian.

In other circumstances, Rapunzel is sometimes portrayed as Princess Leia Organa, Jyn Erso and as Rey. Leia being her most common role choice, since her canon love interest has a few Han Solo-like traits and the fact that Rapunzel herself is a princess.

Extra Characters[]

Pitch Black[]

Pitch is commonly portrayed as a Sith that tries to bring Jack over to the Dark Side by using his friends, dream and past to break him.

Big Hero 6[]

The team are portrayed as the Ghost Crew from Star Wars Rebels, with Hiro as Ezra Bridger, Tadashi as Kanan Jarrus and GoGo as Sabine Wren (for the style of their hair). They can also be members of their own Rebel group, as they fight the Empire and help those in need or as a group of young, skilled Jedi, with their own unique abilities and skills training together before or after the Clone Wars. Since Baymax is a robot he will most likely be featured as the team's droid.

The Guardians[]

The Guardians are cast between Master Jedi of the Old Republic and a group of Rebels, fighting for the freedom of the galaxy. The rebel group that their cast as sometimes mirrors the Ghost Crew from Star Wars Rebels; as North or any of the other members show Jack the ways of the force. Bunny can easily be featured as a Lepi, from how he looks very similar to the humanoid rabbit race from the Star Wars universe.

Their Guardian Stone can serve as a large, blue Kyber crystal or any other kind of crystal in the Star Wars universe.

The Man in the Moon[]

MiM is seen as a Yoda-like character, as their both "short", very wise and the main leaders. MiM chose, helps and leads the Guardians in the right direction, much like how Yoda uses and shares his wisdom to guide his fellow Jedi.

Carl the Robot[]

Carl's golden armor (and over the top panicking) heavily resembles C-3PO or any other Protocol Droid, that is gold planted like 3PO.

Yetis[]

North's Yetis are strong, covered in hair-like fur, loyal and know how to wield weapons, can easily casts them as Wookiees. Some of the known Yetis, like Phil can be cast as Chewbacca, or any other known Wookiee.

The Dragon Riders[]

The Dragon Riders of the Berk Dragon Training Academy are commonly seen as a Group of Rebels, fighting against the Empire or the First Order, with Stoick as their commander and rebel leader. The ships that they (each) fly are sometimes named after their dragons' species, while their dragons themselves are portrayed as humans, droids, Wookiees or of any other kind of alien race, that are part of their rebel movement. The Riders can also be portrayed as a group of young Jedi, that fought in the Clone Wars, escaped Order 66 or have recently discovered that they are force sensitive. Although, the style of their dragon scaled armour has sparked the idea to depict them as Mandalorians.

When Hiccup, the riders and other characters from the How to Train Your Dragon franchise are placed the Star Wars AU, the Barbaric Archipelago is commonly featured as a system that exists in the Star Wars universe. While some of the notable islands, like (old or new) Berk, the Dragon's Hide, Outcast Island and possibly the Hidden World, are featured as planets that can be found in the Barbaric Archipelago system.

Valka[]

Valka's wisdom and the passion and bond she has formed with Dragons can easily make her a Jedi, that fought in the Clone Wars and managed to escape Order 66. Her staff can be used as her double-bladed Lightsaber and the dragon sanctuary as the planet that she has been hiding out on.

Since Jedi weren't allowed to form personal attachments, Valka would have given her baby to her lover so he could be raised by his father, or have kept Hiccup and raised him in the Jedi Order. Without telling him that she's his mother while another Jedi Master trains Hiccup in the ways of the force. It would hurt Valka to lie and keep herself away from her own child, but she would do anything to keep Hiccup safe and to prevent him from joining the dark side.

Stoick the Vast[]

Stoick is commonly seen as a rebel/resistance leader, commander or general that fights for the freedom of his people, as well as many others. Fans also have him as the lover of a Jedi who is the mother of his son, Stoick being aware of his child and was left to raise Hiccup on his own, as Jedi weren't allowed to form personal attachments, or being completely unaware of their son until he meets him as a teenager or a young adult, differs from story to story.

Leafmen[]

Since the Leafmen protect Moonhaven from Mandrake and his Boggans, they can easily be portrayed as Jedi Knights. With Ronin as one of the survivors of Order 66, who later came across Nod, learned that he is force sensitive and took him on as his apprentice. The relationship of Ronin taking reasonability for Nod and making sure that he comes the best Leafman he can, could have them mirroring Kanan Jarrus and Ezra Bridger from Star Wars Rebels. The Leafmen can even be placed as a large group of Rebels and Pilots, fighting against the Empire or the First Order for their freedom. Nod's brief time as a bird racer before Ronin needed both Nod and his none hummingbird steed to carry the caretakers of Queen Tara's pod, could have the young Leafman trying to become a pod or starship racer before or after he met Ronin, who gets him to join the fight for freedom.

Queen Elsa[]

Elsa is commonly seen as a Jedi in a blue robe and wielding a blue bladed Lightsaber, as well as casting her as a rebel that is fighting for her people's freedom and to give her sister a better life, or a blue armoured Mandalorian. Elsa is also viewed as a Sith, when her past fear of harming her sister again is used to bring her over to the Dark Side.

In other circumstances, Elsa would be cast as Padmé (for their royal status), Rey or as a female version of Kylo Ren.

Flynn Rider[]

Flynn's past and falling in love with a royal can cast him as Han Solo, with Rapunzel as Leia. He can even be given a similar backstory to Han's, as he does what he can to survive in the Empire ruled Galaxy and looked out for himself until he got mixed up in one of the rebel's battles and agreed to help them in their struggle. There also been occasions when Flynn is cast as a Jedi Master when Varian is featured as his Padawan, some surviving Jedi and Padawans have changed their names to keep themselves hidden from those who want to ensure that the Jedi stay gone, while starting a new life for themselves when they can, and Eugene is someone who has changed his name when he decided to become a thief with his best friend.

In other circumstances, Flynn has been cast as Poe Dameron, Finn and even as Qui-Gon Jinn, for fun.

Defenders of the Wing[]

Because of their black clothing that has them cover their faces, along with the Defenders are skilled in martial-arts, have experience with hunters that care about getting paid and are a group of warriors, it easily has fans seeing them as the Kage Warriors.

While Mala's wisdom, being a skilled fighter and cares about her people could make her a Jedi Knight. She would have came across the tribe as she escaped Oder 66 with Throk by her side and later inspired them to fight against the Empire. Mala would use the force to commune with the tribe's guardian beast and to make sure that both they and the beast get a long. In return the tribe would make sure that hope is not lost and keep Mala safe from those who wish to kill the remaining, surviving Jedi.

Angry and Red[]

Since Angry and Red have skills in agility and use it in their thieving, and had "bad people" hunting them down for their leader, it could have the two girls as force sensitive children that were brought together by their connection to the force. Once the Empire discovered this they set the bounty hunter, Weasel to hunt down and bring the girls to them alive, so their Sith members could train them in the ways of the dark side. Which would have the girls moving from plant to plant in their attempts to escape the Empire's grasps before they could get their hands on them. Until they were found by a rebel group that took them in, so they could find them a Jedi master and to keep them safe from the Sith.

In other circumstances, Angry and Red being a pair of orphan girls who have dipped their toes into the world of crime to survive could possibly have them as child versions of Rafa and Trace Martez (or make the two former thieves older for the roles), as they share a similar energy to them. With Angry/Kiera and Rafa having a strong distrust in others and believing that they and their sisters could only count on each other alone, while Red/Catalina and Trace did what their sisters have told them to do and have managed to hang onto the brighter sides of their poor lives. Just as the two girls starting off as young orphan children on the run from a dangerous man and his group could also give them the roles of Kel and Eila from the Resistance anime series. Angry/Kiera being the leader of the two and the way she looks out for the girl she came to love as a sister would have her as a female Kel, while Red/Catalina possessing an unique ability and is more friendly and trusting makes her Eila.

Drago Bludvist[]

Drago would most likely be featured as a Sith Lord, with a lightsaber version of his bullhook. Along with him using the dark side of the force to control or strike fear into others.

Trader Johann[]

Johann is seen as a friend to rebel fights, as he helps them with supplies and information for their cause; so he could gain their trust. In order to hide the fact that he is truly a high ranking member of the empire, as he spies on rebels, by feeding them useful information and sacrificing a few of his men and bases, until it was time to take them out; without alerting other rebel cells that the Empire wants to bring down. While Johann's time with the Dragon Hunters, could have him as a Mandalorian or someone who took charge over a Mandalorian house.

In other circumstances, Johann would be cast as Palpatine A.K.A. Darth Sidious, as both men are the main masterminds that first appear as a friend that people could trust, until it was time for them to reveal themselves and unleash their master plan.

Prince Hans[]

Hans is commonly seen as a commanding officer, of a high or "medium" rank, that faithfully serves the Empire or the First Order. As well as portraying him as a Sith, that tries to bring Elsa or Anna over to the dark side.

While the first three letters in his name (without the "s") could have fans portray him as Han Solo, for fun. There have also been fans who think that Hans should be cast as Alexsandr Kallus.

Yokai[]

Due to the dark clothing that Callaghan wears as Yokai and when his mask is featured as a helmet, he can be placed as a Sith that goes by Darth Yokai. While the "death" of his daughter, could have him as a revenge seeking terrorist that targets the Empire, with no concern for the innocent lives that would get hurt in his attacks.

Jamie Bennett[]

Due to Jamie's strong belief that gave the Guardians strength when they needed it most, and how his touch turned Pitch's nightmares back into dreansand, he can be placed as a force sensitive child. With Jack, or any of the other Guardians, as his Jedi master.

Winston Deavor[]

Winston's support and belief in supers, can make him one of the senators that support and lend his assistance to rebels, in their fight for freedom. By replacing supers with Jedi in a Star Wars version of Winston and his father's backstory, while his sister believes that the galaxy is better off without Jedi. Preferring the ways of the Empire than what the rebels are fighting for.

Frozone[]

Due to his dark skin and being voice acted by Samuel L. Jackson, fans can easily cast him as Jedi Master Mace Windu.

Robots[]

The robot characters of the fandom, like Carl, Baymax, DOR-15 and Clive (along with robots that are "objects" like Megabot, the other battlebots that are used in the bot fights and the Skymaxes), can be featured as Droids, artificial intelligence robots that exist in the Star Wars universe.

Princess Anna[]

Anna is cast between a Rebel, Mandalorian and a Jedi, or is sometimes placed as both on two of the three, beside her sister.

In other circumstances, Anna is cast as Rey and a female Finn.

Vanellope von Schweetz[]

Vanellope's glitching ability could have fans feature her as a force sensitive child, as well as a young Jedi. While Shank teaching Vanellope a few racing skills, that she wouldn't have learned in Sugar Rush, could have her as Vanellope's Jedi master.

In Ralph Breaks the Internet, Vanellope encounters online avatar/Netizen versions of First Order Stormtroopers, from the Star Wars sequel trilogy, as well as having a breath encounter with the Netzine version of C-3PO, in the physical manifestation of the On My Disney website, when she and Ralph travelled to the physical world within the real-life internet. Litwak's Arcade also has a 1983 Star Wars arcade game, which would have Vanellope spending time in the cameo Star Wars world that resides within the game.

Momakase[]

Momakase's fighting style and choosing to live in the darker side of life, thieving, cheating, ruthless that is combined with her pride and never hesitates or holds back for when she puts other people in danger and sometimes places their lives on the line, could have her as a Sith. As well as a Sith Inquisitor, as she had her own henchmen and base before she was sent to prison and began to work for Obake; and later Liv (Di) Amara. While her criminal life could have Momakase as a Bounty Hunter, that works for the Empire, the First Order or whoever agrees to pay her.

Double Dan's slug-like appearance and position as a crime lord ruling over a shady, atmospheric place has him as an intimidating figure, in which strongly casts the slug-centaur as Jabba the Hutt.

Zephyr Haddock[]

Being Hiccup's brown haired hair daughter, could have fans casting an older version of Zephyr as Leia Organa/Skywalker. Since there has been fans that have Hiccup cast as Anakin Skywalker.

Grimmel the Grisly[]

Since Grimmel is a dragon hunter that enjoys the thrill of the hunt, takes great pride in want he hunts in hopes that his actions would wipe dragons from existence and was hired by a group of people that seek to conquer the world, Grimmel can easily be placed as a Bounty Hunter, that works for the Empire or the First Order, while using a blast or a sci-fi version of his crossbow. His rode-cloak like clothing and dark view on what he despises, along with the people that care about dragons and fight to protect them, could even have Grimmel as a Sith. Who enjoys using the controlling side of the force, as it allows him to control and command his savage puppets. Like with the Night Furies he has killed long before the events of the third HTTYD film, Grimmel would make it his mission to kill any surviving Jedi or those who are strong with the force to ensure that the Jedi stay gone.

Warlords[]

Since the Warlords had rebuild itself from what remained of Drago's half fallen army, they can easily serve as the First Order. As its operation began sometime after the fall of the Galactic Empire. Fans could even have them as Warlords of criminal organizations within the Star Wars universe.

Separatists of Saporia[]

Due to their name and their antagonistic relationship with Corona, they can easily be cast as the Confederacy of Independent Systems (who are often known as the Separatists).

Hector[]

The line across Hector's face, the style of his hair and living an isolation life while living up to his code, could have fans portray him as Quinlan Vos.

Queen Iduna of Arendelle[]

The past events that led to Iduna hiding her origins from the people around her, after she left her birth home and knew that she can't ever return to it, can easily have Iduna as a force sensitive woman who had survived Order 66 when she was a girl. Because she didn't finished her Jedi training when the Order was attacked and many Jedi became the hunted in a dark time, she is forced to keep her abilities a secret and made sure that Elsa (and sometimes Anna) does so too in order to keep them and the rest of their family safe from the Empire.

In other circumstances, the times that fans have portrayed Elsa as Rey and the fact that Iduna is a mother, can easily cast her as Leia Organa. Who was like a mother figure to Rey.

Varian[]

Because of the good and dark (before becoming good again) paths that Varian took, fans have him between a Jedi and a Sith. Since Varian didn't believe in magic when he first met Rapunzel and Cassandra, there is a chance that he wouldn't believe in the force until he sees someone using it, before he realizes that he too is force sensitive. Quirin being a former member of the Brotherhood could have him or Varian's mother as the Jedi parent, who kept their past a secret in order to protect their family from those who want the Jedi to remain gone.

Viggo Grimborn[]

Viggo's line of work as a Dragon Hunter can easily have him as a Mandalorian who is the head of his clan. There have also been fans who have Viggo as a Sith beside his older brother.

Ryker Grimborn[]

Ryker's line of work as a Dragon Hunter can easily have him and his younger brother as Mandalorians. There have also been fans who have Ryker as a ruthless Sith.

Krogan[]

Dawn Betterman[]

Due to Dawn being voiced by Kelly Marie Tran, fans can easily cast her as Rose Tico.

Raya[]

Raya being a young survivor who grew up not knowing who to trust could have her as a Padawan survivor of Order 66, since many survivors of that dark event were forced to hide what they are and the power they hold while continuing their Jedi training on their own. With only the memory of their master's teachings to guide them. Similar to how Raya had to safe guard her shard of the Dragon Gem and treasures the memories of her father, along with trusting in the legend that Namaari shared with her before the Fang Princess betrayed the Heart Princess.

In other circumstances, due to Raya being voiced by Kelly Marie Tran, fans can easily cast her as Rose Tico. While her personality and opening scene in the Desert of Tail could have Raya as Ray.

Morgana[]

Morgana's female gender and mastery of dark related magic, fans can easily portray her as a Nightsister, since both the Nightbrothers and the trolls Morgana allied herself with were warriors who have horns. While the past and present timelines shown in Wizards revealing the goodness in Morgana, before her desire to free those of magic from her half brother's magic hating wraith led to her siding with the Arcane Order and Gunmar, could have her as a Jedi who fell to the dark side and became a Sith. Since a few known Sith were Jedi who betrayed their masters when the dark side got the better of them, similar to how Morgana betrayed her master when she felt that it was the only way and that siding with the Dark Gumm-Gumm Lord to aid the Arcane Order in their plan would help the world. Before she realised that she had made a terrible mistake and made it her mission to correct it.

Vodniks[]

Since there are a few aquatic species in the Star Wars universe, the Vodniks can easily be placed in the AU as either themselves or as one of the known aquatic species from the said series, that might resemble a Vodnik. In appearance or nature.

Killian[]

Killian would likely fill the role of Orson Krennic from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, due to both characters being played by Ben Mendelsohn.

Ian Lightfoot[]

The magic within Ian that allowed him to use his late father's wizard staff could have fans featuring him as a force sensitive teen, since his modern fantasy world had its wizards dying out through the forgotten knowledge of magic just has the Clone Wars are the reason that Jedi are now extremely rare in the Star Wars universe.

Justin[]

Justin's dream of becoming a knight like his late grandfather before him, could possibly have fans feature him as someone who wants to become a Jedi Knight. Since the knights from the world of 2013 film were band thanks to the laws Justin's father created, while Jedi were either wiped out or forced into hiding by the Empire.

Cassandra[]

Cassandra was first featured as a Rebel, until her becoming a villain after she took the Moonstone Opal for herself has inspired fans to portray her as a Jedi who fell to the dark side and becomes a Sith, before becoming a Jedi again after she reforms back to her kind old self. As there have been a few fallen Jedi who have returned back to the light side of the force.

Douxie Casperan[]

Douxie starting out as an apprentice who gets separated from his master for many years, while hiding his magical powers and the fact that he is a wizard before the events of the third Tales of Arcadia story, Wizards, he can easily be placed as a Jedi Padawan who survived Order 66 and has continued his Jedi training in secret. While his master's mission to save wielders of magic from Arthur's wrath could have Douxie as one of the young force sensitive people Merlin manages to save from the Empire, so he wouldn't be turned into a Sith and would later help his master rebuild the Jedi Order.

Bruno Madrigal[]

Due to the way Bruno wore his hooded green ruana (as "Hernando"), some fans like to feature him as a Jedi. From how many of them wore hooded robes, have the ability to see future events through their connection with the force and there have been a few known Jedi who have appeared odd at first, while having wisdom in their madness. There is also the fact that Bruno had hide from everyone for a very long time, while many surviving Jedi were forced to go into hiding after the Clone Wars knowing that the Empire would kill any Jedi they mange to find, as well as those who try to either help or hide a Jedi from them.

The Baron[]

The Baron being a notorious kingpin of Tangled's criminal underworld can easily place him and his organisation in that seedy side of the Star Wars universe, that is no stranger to criminal families, organisations and the dark shady world they dwell in.

Ruby Gillman[]

With the Star Wars universe having a few known aquatic species, Ruby, her family and the other kraken people from the 2023 DreamWorks film can easily be featured in the AU. As either themselves or as one of those aquatic people within the SW franchise.
