Beauty and the Beast
Beauty and the Beast AU is an AU (Alternate Universe) within the Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons universe and the Rise of the Brave Tangled Frozen Dragons universe. In the AU, Rapunzel, Merida, Hiccup and Jack Frost are casted as characters from the original French fairy tale by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont, although the AU usually goes along the same storyline of the animated Disney version produced in 1991 (and its live-action remake in 2017). Because it is not canon, ideas for this AU are shown through fanfiction, fanart, and other fan-made works. This AU is considered an offshoot to Fairy Tale AU.

About the AUEdit

This AU was spawned from various fanarts. The Beauty and the Beast AU shows the Big Four (and supporting characters of the fandom) cast as characters from the original fairy tale and Disney movie. Although not a widely known AU, it still maintains some loyal fans.

Spinoff AUsEdit

Featured CharactersEdit

The Big FourEdit

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock IIIEdit

Hiccup is usually cast as the role of Beast (Prince Adam formally) with Toothless, or a dragon-human hybrid version of himself, as his 'beast' self. While the Hijack pairing has him placed with the role of Belle.

Jack FrostEdit

Most people cast Jack as the Beast due to his isolation from society and the fact that he's a spirit, others like to cast him as Belle for his curious nature and thirst for adventure and excitement similarly to Belle. There have also been fans that have Jack as Lumiere, as well as the candlestick's human self.

Merida DunBrochEdit

In most cases, Merida plays Belle, the sweet and imaginative daughter of a French inventor and love interest to Beast (Hiccup). Some people, however, change her role because of shipping reasons. When Merida is portrayed as the Beast, she is given the form of a bear for her 'beast' self; much like how Toothless is used Hiccup's Beast form, as well as to combined the Enchantress's spell with the fate changing spell that Merida had got from the witch and used on her mother (and her little brothers). Her horse, Angus can be placed as Philippe, when she is Belle.

Rapunzel CoronaEdit

Much like Merida, Rapunzel's role depends on the shipper. She is most commonly portrayed as Belle, as they both love to read, are kind, sweet and curious nature girls and dream of having an adventure and excitement in their lives. The Golden Flower can serve as the Enchanted Rose, while Maximus or (Cassandra's horse) Fidello is placed as Philippe.

In the first season of Tangled: The Series, a book of Beauty and the Beast was seen in "The Wrath of Ruthless Ruth". While in "Secret of the Sun Drop" a yellow dress that looks strongly like Belle's ball-gown was featured as one of Rapunzel's birthday presents.

Extra Characters Edit

Sometimes Toothless is cast as the role of Beast (only the Beast form), while Hiccup is Prince Adam. A black horse version of Toothless has also been placed as Philippe, when Hiccup is a male Belle.

Princess Anna Edit

She is usually cast as Belle, because of the Elsanna, Hanna and Kristanna pairings. Anna's horse, Kjekk (or a horse version of Sven) can even be portrayed as Philippe beside her.

Queen Elsa Edit

Because of the pairing Elsanna, she plays the role of the Beast as Anna is usually cast as Belle. She can also be cast as Belle, with Hans or Jack as the Beast. Her Ice Castle can also serve as the Beast's cursed castle, while Arendelle's castle is the form it takes when the spell is broken.

Prince Hans Edit

He would be casted as Gaston because of his personality. He can also be cast as Beast/Prince Adam, with Elsa or Anna as Belle.

Kristoff Bjorgman Edit

Kristoff is portrayed as Beast/Prince Adam for the Kristanna pairing. He is sometimes given a human-reindeer hybrid theme and design for his 'Beast self', as if to serve as a reference to his friendship with Sven.

Megamind Edit

He is casted as the Beast as Bernard is casted as Prince Adam, because of the pairing Meganne and when Roxanne plays Belle.

Bernard Edit

Bernard is casted as Prince Adam, while Megamind is his Beast form. As Megamind had spent a lot of time disguised as him while spending time with Roxanne.

Roxanne Ritchi Edit

She is casted as Belle, because of her brown hair and the pairing Meganne.

Astrid Hofferson Edit

Astrid is usually cast as Belle, because of the Hiccstrid pairing. Her former personality (from the first film) can even have her cast as a female version of Beast (Prince Adam formally) with Stormfly as her 'beast' self, just as Toothless serves as Hiccup's beast self.

Wolves Edit

The Wolves from Frozen can serve as the Wolves that cashed Maurice to the Beast's castle, later attacked Belle and that the Beast fought to save her from them.

Mother Gothel Edit

Since the golden flower is sometimes used as the Enchanted rose, and with Gothel's history of transforming from an old woman into a younger woman of some beauty with magic, she can easily be given the role of the Enchantress. As both characters punish those that mistreat them and had confined them into one place until love sets that person free.

Flynn Rider Edit

Flynn is seen as Prince Adam, as love made both men change into a better person and have caused them to see a new kind of beauty that they wouldn't have appreciated before; as well as having magic from a flower "touching" them. Other fans however see him as Gaston, due to some of his (former) personality and caring about his looks.

Manolo SánchezEdit

Manolo can be portrayed as Prince Adam, with his deceased Calaca form as his Beast form. While Maria is Belle.

Maria PosadaEdit

Maria can be portrayed as Belle. As both girls come from small towns, love to read and have two men trying to win their hand.

Wreck-It RalphEdit

Ralph is cast as Beast/Prince Adam, for the Icebreaker and Ralphix pairings.

Since Beetle's human-insect like form is due to a curse that was placed on him, he can be cast as Beast. While his human self as Hanzo serves as Prince Adam.

Since Monkey's form is due to magic, she can be cast as a female Beast, with her human self Sariatu as Adam. While the Satanzo pairing has her as Belle.

Vanellope von SchweetzEdit

Since Vanellope meets the Netizen version of Belle in Ralph Breaks the Internet, while traveling through the physical world within the real-life internet, fans can cast Vanellope as her for fun.
