Gargoyles AU is an AU in the fandom where the Big Four are portrayed as Gargoyles.
About the AU[]
Spawning from fanart, this AU portrays the Big Four as gargoyles. Stone carvings of winged creatures that sit, "guard" and flow water off the side of builds by day; and come to life by turning from stone to flesh at night. Before reverting back to stone during the day.
This AU often uses the Disney TV series, Gargoyles as a template, but this is not required.
Due to the times when gargoyles are seen in some monster related franchises, like Hotel Transylvania, fans can consider this AU an alternative to Monster AU. Just the Gargoyles in the Disney series helping their detective friend with her cases and to keep the peace during the night, could also have this AU as an alternative to Crime AU, along with how the Asian gargoyle clans (of Japan and China) could place it beside Dragon Warriors AU, as well as Pocahontas AU to reference the Native American people and Raven spirit that were also featured in the Disney cartoon series. While the series featuring its own versions of King Arthur and other notable characters (and items) from the Arthurian folklore, it can help fans to consider this AU an alternative to Camelot AU. The past events of the Vikings who attacked Castle Wyvern and the way that the Norse God Odin was also featured in the cartoon series, could even have this AU be consider as an alternative to Viking AU.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III[]
Hiccup could be either one of the gargoyles (namely the son of the clan leader, Goliath/Stoick), or he could be one of the Vikings who are featured attacking Castle Wyvern. This would add an interesting dynamic to his relationship with the gargoyles, since they may initially be unwilling to trust someone who betrayed the people they protected. He would soon win them round with his inventive, funny side, however.
Jack Frost[]
Jack could be cast either as one of the younger gargoyles, like Lexington or Brooklyn, or as Puck, due to the fact that both Puck and Jack are impish tricksters with white hair.
Merida DunBroch[]
Merida could be portrayed as Angela, the daughter of Goliath and princess of the gargoyles. She is highly suitable for the role since she is a proud female warrior who comes from Scotland, the place of origin of the Manhattan Clan.
In other circumstances, Merida and the other four clans can be a clan or clans of Gargoyles, that watch over the Kingdom of DunBroch from Castle DunBroch.
Rapunzel Corona[]
Rapunzel could be cast as Elisa Maza, the detective who first meets and befriends the gargoyles, due to their similar natures. Her friend, Pascal could also be featured as a gargoyle beast/pet, much like Bronx.

Douxie Casperan[]
Douxie starting off as another wizard's young apprentice, before he becomes a full-fledged wizard and is close with mythical creatures that turn to stone by the sun's light, he could be cast as the Magus. The Gargoyles series having its own version of King Arthur and other notable Arthurian folklore figure and items that were seen or only mentioned in it, and how Wizards revealed that Douxie was original from the time of Arthur and his knights of the round table before he came to the modern town of Arcadia Oaks, he could even be featured as himself in the AU.
Morgana[]
With the Gargoyles series having its own version of a notable Arthurian folklore figure and items that were seen or only mentioned in it, Morgana could be cast as herself or her Gargoyles counterpart (in the same way that Gothel is cast as herself or the character she is based on in the Rapunzel AU). Even though Morgana le Fay of the Gargoyles series, that is a child of Oberon, wasn't seen or mentioned in the cartoon series, the notable Arthurian figure is acknowledged in the Gargoyles franchise.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng[]
In the Ladybug & Cat Noir film Ladybug and her feline partner face a gargoyle villain, that serves as the first akumatized villain they face together. Before their battle got a small crowed to see them with the gargoyle, a tour mentioning the myth about how gargoyles coming to life at night.
